Tourist tax
How the Tourist Tax Helps
We are proud to rent properties in a beautiful region such as Tuscany and Umbria. Tuscany is rich with history and full of charm and tourist tax is one way to preserve this. The Tourist tax, introduced in 2012 is a small fee that is paid to the local commune. Usually the fee is collected by the property manager or owner and paid directly to the commune where it is invested in maintaining the local infrastructure and to help improve the smooth passage of tourism in the summer season.
The average charge is between 1 and 2 Euro, per adult, per night, capped at 7 nights, some exemptions apply. Charges and exemptions vary depending on the local commune.
Also your property manager or owner must make the local provincial police aware of you and your party's stay at your villa. This allows them to monitor the number of visitors and make effective decisions on how to maintain the Tuscany region.
